Wastewater Engineer

Wastewater Engineer shall be responsible to direct the design and perform project management of various lift stations and wastewater treatment plants projects including rehabilitation projects, preliminary engineering reports, feasibility studies and evaluations.  Responsibility shall include: Ensuring all technical aspects of a project, including the design, specifications and reports, are in compliance with AEI quality objectives as well as all local and state criteria; Reviewing, developing, and maintaining quality assurance standards, procedures, design tools and training programs related to wastewater design projects; Establish project budgets and schedules for wastewater design projects including preparation of accurate engineering cost estimates for projects, actively monitoring project budgets and schedules throughout the duration of a project; Managing and training other engineers regarding wastewater design; Assist in the development and preparation of engineering proposals related to wastewater design projects.

Wastewater Engineer shall have demonstrated an advanced level of technical expertise related to wastewater treatment design including design calculations involving hydraulics, pump design and biological treatment processes. Candidate shall hold a Professional Engineering license with a minimum of 6 to 10 years of experience.  Position shall report to the Wastewater Team Manager and AEI Owners.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited college in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
  • Must be licensed in the State of Texas as a Professional Engineer.
  • Operational knowledge of local Houston area Utilities Districts and Municipal Agencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as the position will require presentations to clients, participation in public meetings as well as in proposal interviews.
  • At least 4 to 8 years of progressive experience in the area of water resource design and team management.
  • Experience with MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License

 

Hydraulics and Hydrology Engineer

AEI ENGINEERING, LLC is searching for a senior drainage engineer to grow and lead the company drainage team. Candidate should possess 7-10 plus years of experience performing hydrologic and hydraulic studies, technical reports, permitting and engineering plans and specifications for flood control projects, storm water drainage systems, master drainage plans, detention facilities and various civil projects drainage systems.  Candidate will possess a working knowledge of standard software for hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, including USACE HEC Software (HEC-HMS, HEC-GeoHMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRAS, HEC-DSS) and ESRI ArcGIS and oversee and manage engineering staff, allocate resources, and direct the activities of engineers working on drainage projects.

Candidate will be someone who builds/maintains relationships with existing and future clients; helps those clients develop long range project/facility planning; works with staff engineers to successfully complete projects; and serves as a mentor/coach in the training and development of the engineering staff.  Candidate will also play a key role with new business development including assist with the proposal and SOQ process and developing leads. Provide quality assurance and quality control oversight for water resource engineering projects and will represent the company in professional, civic, and political activities and organizations by attending board meetings, technical advisory meetings, and public outreach meetings.
