Michael A. Kurzy, P.E.
Michael Kurzy has twenty eight years of experience in civil engineering planning and design, primarily in the area of commercial and residential land development as well as water and wastewater systems. Mr. Kurzy has designed multiple roads with associated drainage systems. Mr. Kurzy has significant experience in providing water, sanitary sewer, drainage, detention and paving facilities to serve land development projects. Mr. Kurzy has additional experience in resolving problematic drainage issues for various entities and has experience in construction management and park design as well. Mr. Kurzy has served as the client representative for municipal utility districts and other government entities.
Tom Matkin, P.E.
Tom Matkin has over twenty two years of experience in civil engineering planning and design, primarily in the areas of water supply, treatment, and distribution; storm water quality management; and public works. Mr. Matkin has significant experience in projects associated with all aspects of water supply plants, including evaluation, design, and rehabilitation of water wells, storage and pressure tanks, pumps, and treatment systems. Additionally, Mr. Matkin is proficient in the design of various water distribution systems, including an established background in large-diameter water transmission systems. Mr. Matkin is an experienced and reliable manager with a track record of ensuring that projects are routinely completed in a timely manner while consistently producing quality results.
Nancy C. Blackwell, P.E.
Principal / Regional Director
Nancy Blackwell, P.E. has over twenty three years of experience in civil engineering planning and design, primarily in the areas of municipal water supply and distribution, and municipal wastewater collection and treatment. Ms. Blackwell has significant experience in projects associated with wastewater treatment plants and sanitary sewer collection systems, including evaluation, design and rehabilitation of lift stations, force mains, sanitary sewer pipe systems, and treatment plant components. Ms. Blackwell has served as the Wastewater Group Manager and provided oversight for all AEI Engineering wastewater projects for several years. Additionally, Ms. Blackwell has developed significant experience in all aspects of municipal facilities, including water systems, drainage systems and land development projects, by serving as a client representative for several municipal utility districts and other government clients for many years.
Pam D. Madrigal, P.E.
Director of Engineering
Pam Madrigal has fifteen years of experience in civil engineering planning and design in the areas of public works and municipal utility district projects. Ms. Madrigal worked as an assistant city engineer and city engineer for the City of Stafford, Texas located in Fort Bend County for nearly nine years. Ms. Madrigal was responsible for the oversight and coordination of numerous roadway construction and rehabilitation project for the City of Stafford, which included coordinating with the Texas Department of Transportation, H-GAC, County and City Engineers of adjacent municipalities regarding the funding, design and construction of shared capital projects. She also has experience as a District Engineer and has designed numerous sanitary sewer rehabilitation projects. Ms. Madrigal is the Director of Engineering at AEI, overseeing all engineering work and ensuring that the work produced meets AEI’s quality and standards. She has also developed and written several strategic plans and been involved in overall system evaluation.
Mr. Crawford has thirty-two years of experience in civil engineering design, construction and project management, primarily in the area of water and wastewater systems as well as highway design and construction. Mr. Crawford has experience in the design of Highway Department roads and infrastructure and the construction project management of Highway Department projects. While with the Highway Department, Mr. Crawford has designed roadway improvement projects using the RDS program along with calculating the hydraulics of these projects. Mr. Crawford has successfully completed the NACE levels one thru three along with the NACE Basic Corrosion Course. Mr. Crawford has overseen the construction project management of NHCRWA water plant expansions, wastewater treatment plant expansions, lift station, sub-division, water and sanitary sewer rehabilitation projects.
